The Department of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy was established on September 1, 2020 by reorganizing the Department of Biology to provide educational activities in the specialty “Veterinary Medicine”. The department is a graduate of the educational program “Diseases of small pets.”

The history of the department begins in 2018, when with the support of the Rector of the National Pharmaceutical, Professor Alla Anatoliyivna Kotvitska, educational programs in the specialty “Veterinary Medicine” were introduced to improve the quality of veterinary education in Ukraine and introduce training of modern veterinarians on NUPh. The Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine of November 13, 2019 “On the expansion of educational activities in higher education” gave the National University of Pharmacy the right to expand educational activities in the new specialty 211 Veterinary Medicine in the field of knowledge 21 Veterinary Medicine at the second (master’s) level education. The first enrollment of students on the basis of complete general secondary education took place in 2020.
